Things I learned this weekend:
Manicures and McDonald’s make for a very happy 6th birthday.
Bi-Lo (grocery store) makes a mean Barbie cake for $29.99, which is perfect for keeping Mommy’s sanity intact.

Nice! Sometimes the $29.99 is just worth it!
ReplyDeleteI'm so proud of you! Bravo for delegating and not hosting the party at your house. That means no cleaning before or after. That cake is perfect!

ha! Great solution to the Barbie cake. My third baby made me lower my expectations and just let go/outsource. Case in point, I'm addicted to Amazon Prime. I need envelopes, hangers, diapers, tiolet paper, oatmeal? I order anything from them. Pretty soon I won't even have to leave the house:)

Totally worth the money!!!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you chose to buy the cake! I hope it was before you attempted one yourself!

I was just about to comment on what a great job you did on the Barbie cake when I read that you bought it :) That's great! I switched to buying our kids' cakes years ago - what a stress reliever! We also instituted the "rule" years ago that kids only have "friend" parties (the stressful, send invites, make goodie bags, plan games, more expensive kind) on even numbersd years. The odd years we have much lower key family celebrations :) Just a tip from one mom of many to another.
ReplyDeleteHaha--well worth the $29.99! The cake is great! Glad she had a great birthday!
ReplyDeleteI, too, was going to compliment you on the cake! It came out great, regardless of who made it. :)
ReplyDeleteSmart mama. Sometimes I forgot that six year olds are so easy to please.

Haha...Rule #126 in the Mama Handbook...Delegate, Delegate, Delegate...still just as perfect if we stressed over everything ourselves! :)
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a great birthday party....a Barbie cake and a manicure. Perfect for 6 or 60!!!
ReplyDeleteYou tricked me! I was thinking how great your cake turned out- you should have just taken the credit :)
ReplyDeleteNow that is my kind of party! Who doesn't love a mani and little sugar?! I always buy my cakes.
